John W. Wiles's Breast Cancer PledgePage

To all my friends
Just about one year ago I was asked to support a very worthy cause, a walk-a-thon that took place in May, 2000. It was three days in duration, 20 miles each day originating in Frederick, Maryland ending in Washington DC. The benefit of this watk-a-thon went to Avon Breast Cancer Research. This worthy cause interested me at the time and I supported one of the hearty walkers.

Well here we are again, the date has been set for May 4th-6th, 2001 and I have decided to enter the fray. I know it's a big undertaking and I will endeavor to complete the task. Personal preparations are already under way, registration, training, travel and everything that goes into such an undertaking. All of these costs will be borne by me as well a financial donation to the cause.

One of the requirements of participation is that the walker must raise a minimum of two thousand dollars (by April 5th) and this is the reason for this letter. I am asking that you donate as much as you can to this worthy cause. The more I raise the easier the walk will be. What ever your decision is you have my grateful thanks as well as a deduction for taxes.

Checks should be made payable to: Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day. My name and walker # 3942 should appear on the check memo so that it will be credited to my effort. If you have any questions I can be reached by phone at (757) 482-1481.

or donate on line

Your help can change the life of those touched by breast cancer, maybe even someone you know.

Sincerely,
